Heroes vs Lost

This is another theme from SFG "Heroes vs Lost". I have to thank my wife Rose for the idea. For those that are unfamiliar with the shows I used time traveler Hiro from Heroes to face off against the strange Polar Bear from Lost. I guess Hiro really blinked himself into something this time. I did this color one really getting my feet wet with digital coloring and effects.

Also have the requisite pencil drawing I worked from.

I love this! It reminds me of an illustration from a children's book, and I mean that as a great compliment! I think the coloring worked out really well. Are you happy with the border, though?

Thanks Jules. I am happy with most of it and I have problems with other bits. The border was actually based off a painting in the Heroes show, Hiro faces off with a dinosaur (instead of a polar bear). I really experimented with the different brushes I've accumulated this is mostly evident in the polar bear's fur, the border and the grassy plain.

I tried to get a good likeness of the actor, which I feel I failed to do, but the painting in question doesn't even get close.

I guess that the slippery thread faced with leaning towards a more realistic style, rather than a more simplified approach.

Thanks for checking in :) You rock.

Thanks for the credit for the idea. I think that pencil drawing captures Hiro and and polar bear and little better than the colored picture. That said I think the colored picture looks cleaner and I like the way the characters pop from the background and border better.

Love ya.
